My Childhood - Roy Chew

I was born on 13 August 1993 at Thomson Medical Centre. As a child my parents doted on me as I was the youngest child in the family. My family consists of my parents, elder brother, sister and myself. I remember that my father would always drive my family out to beaches for picnics on Sundays. It was fun and enjoyable at that time. My favourite childhood show was the cartoon "Power Rangers". My parents would always buy me two power ranger figurines whenever I had done well in nursery.

When I was 5 years old, my parents bought me the video tape of the Power Rangers movie. I was so delighted at that time that I kept watching it over and over again. But one fine day when my sister and I decided to have some fun with the video recorder. We played the Power Ranger movie and kept rewinding and fast forwarding the movie until the film strip of the tape was caught by the recorder. When my parents knew about they caned my sister and I for the whole night.

When I turned 7 years old, my parents started to pile me with assessment books. Life has since become more hectic and stressful. Well, all I can say is it was fun being a child - so carefree and enjoyable. I will always remember my wonderful childhood days.

  1. Roy, it would be better if you could use shorter sentences in your writing for better clarity. Try it! Mrs Ng
